A hot spot (also called acute moist dermatitis) is a red, inflamed patch of skin that becomes irritated from licking, scratching, or trapped moisture. They can appear very quickly and spread fast if untreated.

Signs to watch for:

🔴 Red, inflamed, or painful skin

🐾 Constant licking, chewing, or scratching at one area

💧 Moist, oozing patches that may smell unpleasant

✂️ Hair loss around the sore spot

If you notice these changes, it’s best to have your dog checked early—treatment is usually simple, and it helps keep your pup comfortable! 🐾
